Regional U14 / U16 / U19

Program Description

This is a North Zone based program for 12- to 18-year-old athletes (U14-U19) looking for a relaxed and low-pressure environment to explore their passion for ski racing. The Regional program is best suited to athletes who wish to pursue a recreational pathway, or athletes who may also be balancing other activities and interests throughout the season.

The Regional program is aligned with the "Train to Train" stage within ACA-LTAD. Athletes will learn, consolidate, and refine a variety of technical skills and critical race elements over their ski racing careers.

The Snow Valley Racing Regional program is structured to offer a variety of fun and flexible opportunities throughout the North Zone. The Regional race series is hosted within the Edmonton area and the last race of the season (Regional Finals) takes place in Jasper.

The goal of the Regional program is to create ‘skiers for life’, and athletes may enter this stage at any point along their racing journey. Snow Valley Racing alumni share their love and joy of ski racing to the community, their families, and future generations of athletes. There are endless opportunities in the sport of skiing especially when a skier has a solid technical skiing foundation.

Snow Valley Racing alumni that have completed at least one season of U19 are encouraged to pursue their ACA Entry Level coach training to teach and mentor aspiring ski racers. This is an exciting opportunity which will facilitate the transition from racing to coaching, and keep our alumni involved in the sport for years to come.
