Snow Valley Racing delivers competitive ski racing for athletes ages four and up. Our professionally run programs offer a variety of training to meet all skill levels. Our home hill, Snow Valley Ski Club, is located in the heart of the Rainbow Valley in Edmonton, and is easily accessible off Whitemud Drive.
Our enrolment is one of the largest in Western Canada, and our success in developing both successful competitors and all-around athletes is second to none.
Although the majority of racers may not have the experience of standing on top of the podium, Snow Valley Racing athletes, at all levels, have an opportunity to learn lifelong skills both on and off the hill. The camaraderie of being together as a team during many hours of challenging races and dryland training sessions, as well as the individual adrenaline while rushing down the race course, teaches a work ethic that make our racers better citizens. Ski racing encourages self-discipline, independence and goal setting. Our athletes quickly learn the rewards of achieving and surpassing their goals.
Snow Valley Racing Association is proud of its reputation of excellence. Several SVR athletes have continued racing at higher levels, such as the Alberta Ski Team, the NCAA circuit and even the national and international level. The strength of our program is evident in racer performance and attitude, fiscal strength, and our ability to attract coaches and athletes alike.
As a not-for-profit organization, Snow Valley Racing operates with both volunteers and professional staff. The Board of Directors is responsible to set the policies outlining the long-term objectives of the association and the Program Director is responsible for the operations. Our staff of over 25 coaches work with approximately 210 athletes from 150 different families each year.
One of our objectives is to make a high-quality ski racing program financially accessible to mainstream families. In order to deliver on this, we must fundraise outside of our organization. Our registration fees only cover 40% of the cost of the program – fundraising and other contributions make up the rest!
Snow Valley is located at 13204-45 Avenue in Edmonton
