One of our objectives is to keep SVR programs affordable to our members while pursuing our vision. In order to do so, we rely on fundraising activities to generate close to 40% of our revenue.
We encourage each family to take part in the Grocery Program and the annual Bike-a-Thon. In addition, each family is required to volunteer a minimum of 2 shifts at SVR fundraising or social events. These events include the Ski Swap, Casino, Silent Auction, and the Spring BBQ. Additional events throughout the season will be added.
Through Sobeys, we offer our grocery card program, which allows families to raise funds for us by shopping for their groceries (8% of the monthly grocery card purchase goes directly to SVR).
Snow Valley Racing works a Casino every two years and requires volunteers to staff the two-day event. This is Snow Valley Racing's biggest single fundraiser and ensures the program costs to families remain at a reasonable rate. The Casino supports all programs of Snow Valley Racing, and is an essential pillar of our fundraising. The club most recently hosted a Casino event on October 18-19, 2023.
The annual Snow Valley Ski and Snowboard Swap will take place October 19-20, 2024. This is a great opportunity to sell some of your used equipment from last season and to get ready for the upcoming season. Second only to Casino events, the Ski Swap is a primary annual fundraising event for the club. Stay tuned for information on volunteering!
